Right now myself and a fellow student, Darius Goodson, are currently working on a couple of collaborative pieces organized to keep our ideas open and to remove certain dogmas and paradigms usually formed through the regular growth of an artist. It is a way for ourselves as artist to push and pull each other into new modes of thinking and approaches to art. the images are places in session order.
This was our first session which encompassed four to five hours of drawing the paper is 140lbs. cold press, the perimeters of the peice is 5′6” x 7′6”x 1/8”.
This is from the second session yet again another four to five hours later.
This from our most current session. Our eventual goal is to use a whole box of 128 Crayola crayons. The more we work on it the more I have now had a tendency to contemplate the process along with the actual materiality of the crayon and the tendency to place them in a category of object from children and no the world of fine art. Also the idea of where Darius or I begin and where do either of us end. The invisibility of the individual. I am hoping the scale and ideas from it will personally change those boundries and hopefully leave an open dialogue.
